Badly written Malaysia trip

Feb 2: Fly back to my one and only home. Going to be miserable in air for too many hours.
Feb 4: Arrived in the morning, bout 1 am. Picked up by my parents (I miss them more than I know) and came home to see my sis and grandma. Yay! And cats still remembers me! All 4 of them.
Feb 4: Woke up in the morning and had my breakfast! I had 3 meals a day almost most of the time when I was back. Call it glutton or maybe healthy. But I need/want the food. Nyeh. Met up with Ninie and Jay for late lunch and chat till 5! Yah, we're all long-winded. Went for my hair appointment with my sister and spent the next 3-4 hours sitting down to perm and ruin my hair. The things I'd do for a change....
Feb 5: Went out for breakfast with the folks and then went to OU to shop. Bought ridiculously little things and then went home. Met up with Ainul and Sara for dinner (I think). We went to... Hartamas Square. Yah, I remember this. Just not sure which day exactly. Oh well.
Feb 6: CNY eve! I have no idea what I did. Probably stayed home and ate dinner. Went to get pants with brother. Realised haven't really spent time with him in ages. *Edit: Went to run errands, paid for visa. Sigh, how come so boring one?
Feb 7: First day of CNY! I also don't remember what we did. Got angpows!
*Gosh memory failing!!!*
Feb 8 : Hung out at home and then went out for dinner with pookie. It's been a while. Went for Sundanese food in KLCC and stopped by Sky Bar in Traders Hotel. It was pretty nice. Some friends stopped by the place after that and we had some mamak. Saw Joon, Sam and LG.
Feb 9 : Met up with long lost Wei Liang! We had the most ridiculously priced hawker food in The Gardens. Midvalley is so difficult to recognize now. Haven't seen him for...as long as I've left for US. Btw, I found the card that he gave me right before I left. The dollar bills have long been stolen, but card still around. A dollar (ringgit) for every bad movie we saw together.
Feb 10: Went to uncle's place and listened to the folks chat while watching the Banquet, I think. Then went for dinner at Secret Recipe with Jay, Sara and Ninie. I have videos and photos on my phone as proof!
Feb 12: Had to wake up really early to go change my visa status at the embassy. Surprisingly done really quickly. Met up with KM, went to some place in OU for a while. Got him to buy cookies! (ok, inside joke). Was chatting with sis later that night, then fell asleep like in 2 seconds after last sentence. Getting old....
Feb 13: Went to Sungei Wang to see and maybe shop for some la la clothes (:p) and met up with the monkey. Came home to have dinner.
Feb 14: Went to OU to walk walk and then picked up visa. Watched Kung Fu Dunk at that place in the Curve. It was pretty amusing, but of no value. How come CNY movies this year got no CNY feel one ha? Came home for dinner and ran out to meet the girls real quick at Carl's Jr. Then came home for pai tin kung. I like some old traditions.
Feb 15: Went out with mum and pa, lazed around for afternoon. Brought cat to the vet with sis. Sasha's claw was growing into her paw, ouch. Uncle and family stopped by. Didn't know that one of my cousins is married. With a baby! So excited. Went to Atrium late at night. Gosh, it was so...not nice. The company was nice but the crowd left a lot to be desired. Or maybe I'm getting old.
Feb 16: Went for lunch with Winnie and Joshy....in the Jap place where the servers dressed up as ninjas. It seemed like they were throwing us out before we were finished cause they were closing. Crap. Then went for a drink somemore to catch up more! It's always fun to chat and bitch with them. Went out with KM and played mahjong! There were so many zha wu's that you can't believe. How can someone have zha wu with four feis?? Hahahaha....was suppose to meet Fiong later that night. Unfortunately, some things happened along the way and had to sort of ffk her. I feel really bad. Sorry Fiong!
Feb 17: Mum,pa,sis and I went to watch CJ7. It could have been better but I did laugh a lot. What can I say, I'm easily amused. Also visited the pasar malam but only for a short while cause it was raining. Bah. Cousin sisters and mum stopped by for dinner that night. My last night. Sigh. All the girls stopped by before I left for the airport too. I'm glad, happy and...I love you girls! Left for airport and had to fly back to Chicago :(

My god, I left out so many things. Meant to write bout all I've ate, but some people may attempt to murder me. For now, this is all I've got. Will be edited. If I remember. And if I have time. Gosh, my writing skill is so crap. Need to write longer and more coherent sentences. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I write what I think And I think with loads of punctuations. Bah.

I am going home! Yay!

Yeap, be jealous. I'm going home for Chinese New Year. It's for all of two weeks only, but hey, I'm happy with what I can get. So, I plan to :

1) Celebrate CNY! Yay!
2) Eat
3) Play mahjong!
4) Meet everyone that I can possibly squeeze into the 2 weeks time frame
5) Rest (yeah right)
6) Spend time with my family
7) I'm very open to suggestions

Will write more when I'm in the mood. Now my back aches. It feels like crap. Argh. Ok, later.

Trip #1 - Chicago

I had a bunch of friends come over to Chicago for the weekend. I think it was our first gathering since...too long ago. But fear not, cause there will be lots more! We (at least I am) already planning the next one. Everyone agreed that it was incredible fun and wonderful. Friends came with their friends and at one point, there were 11 people sleeping in my tiny apartment. Almost all floor space was taken up, but it was all good. I love to have people (that I like) visit me, so come come.

I can post up pictures, but the person who had a camera with him has not sent them to me (hint hint). So none as yet.

I have never imagined that I would make such good friends when I flew over to this country nearly 3 years ago. But I did. And I'm very happy and glad that they are now part of my life. A bunch of us keep in very close contact (ie work email everyday) and I think it helps keep me going. It's a support system that I'm very fortunate to have. I do hope we can stay this way as long as possible and not let anything get in the way. You know who you are, so I don't think I need to say more.

Ok, I will post more about the trip later la.

Back!

Just got back from Singapore. Will post something bout that later as this post, is about my island vacation. I was too lazy to take pictures from the same angle as the website, so had to make do from the places that I was lazing around.

This shot is taken from our room. We upgraded from a standard room to a deluxe room cause this room is bigger, nicer and has a better view.

Another shot of the infinity pool from the room.

The sea. This is during low tide. I think the pictures at the site were taken during high tide.

More infinity pool pictures. Its lovely isn't it?

This is the other pool on the other wing of the resort. Where our initial room was. Its nice too.

The island was nice, though the beach had a lot of rocks and dead coral. It wasnt the white sandy beach that I had expected and when I saw it, I was a tad disappointed. But it was also there that I saw the nicest starry night ever. As you would have known, trying to take pictures of stars using my camera was a failure, so you just have to imagine me sitting on those beach chairs and staring into the sky. It was awesome. The island is not crowded, so it's good for R&R, but not so much for much else. The snorkelling wasn't that great, though I did see Nemo and a shark (it was big!). All in all, it was fun. I want to write more, but I'm in a hurry and my connection is funky. So just in case, this is all I'm writting for now. Tata!

One more week!

I can't wait for my beach vacation! I have been so deprived..but no more! Soon I will bask in the sun, and swim amongst the colorful fishes. I hope I get to spot some small (and hopefully harmless) sharks and turtles too! And to top it all off, the place has an infinity pool!!!! I love infinity pools! I've never swam in one, so this would be my first...and it better be awesome. As you can tell with the exclamation marks, I am excited. Yes I am. Wahahaha.... :p

Infinity pool, yes, they have.

The water is so clear!

Can you feel the serenity?

I am in love with the island even before I've ever been there. I hope its as beautiful as the pictures. No, I hope its even better. If they have a hammock, I may fall so deeply in love with the place that I never come back. Ok, maybe they need more than a hammock. An incredibly cute guy would help too.

2006 Vacations continued

In summer, I was in Philadelphia for my summer internship. Then some friends dropped by at the end of it for a Philly, NY tour and also to enjoy my wonderful floor/carpet. We went around Philly almost entirely on foot. We walked almost 60 blocks! That was crazy, but lucky it was a cool summer. Anyways...some pics.

The famous LOVE sign. I don't know why it's famous though.

NY's evergreen symbol.

Ok so it wasn't some pics. It was 2 pics. Pictures takes too long to load. And blogger can be slow sometimes. So, nah.

More pics

Here. St. Louis pics. Well more to come la. No, no. This is NOT a ploy to keep you coming back. This is because blogspot takes forever to upload pics. So I lazy. Well known fact right?

Too lazy to comment. The last picture quite nice hor?

Photos take forever to load

I just realised that I had promised a whole bunch of people that I would send them the pictures from the St. Louis trip but I had not, because I had no space in my comp at that time to upload them (yes, sad I know). So I put them up here. Haha, if they can find it, then good for them eh.

This is in London. Not St. Louis. Just for fun. Heh.

Japanese tea garden in some botanical garden in St. Louis.

The famous Arc. Or Arch. Correct me.

Back to the garden. If you've realised, there is no sequence.

That's us jumping. The arc is behind the photographer.

Pictures worth thousands of words

Places I've been to in 2006
Part 1

Technically speaking, San Francisco was in 2005, but the vacation went from Dec '05 till Jan '06. So it counts. Cause I say so.

Santa Monica at night is lively and inviting. Any other time, its gorgeous. This is definitely a vacation spot. I wanna go back. Very much so.

And then there is Vegas. A place unlike any other. Just go and see it for yourself la.

Grand Canyon left me with mixed feelings. When we got out of the bus (never take the bus, fly), we oooh-ed and aaaah-ed. Then half and hour later, when you're still looking at the same hole, its just, that. Oh well.
